This weekend was the first weekend I was able to watch Presley playing volleyball. She decided she wanted to play with a friend from school (she's two years older). Presley joined the team and is not only the youngest but all the other girls played together last year.
I was very concerned with her being the youngest and the other teammates being frustrated with her or her with herself. However the coaches have been very good at focusing on good sportsmanship and team work. They are taught to give encouragement when they do well and especially if they made an error.
These lessons are the foundation of what makes a great athlete. For now I want Presley to have fun, understand team work, learn the basics, and get regular exercise! So far she's had a great season and is improving everyday.
